WHISK was founded by Maggie Spicer in 2012. Inspired by connection, Maggie relishes architecting impactful experiences that help people feel engaged, special, and heard.
Maggie's speciality is materializing the seemingly impossible to achieve measurable results - whether that's increased employee retention rates, an advanced pace of innovation, or brand evangelism. An experience designer with a brand strategy background, she brings a decade-old proven track record of innovation and tangible magic to the WHISK team.
Her user-centric insights and crafted process have earned WHISK a strong reputation among leaders in a range of verticals, including tech, media, finance and design. And her relationships in the event production industry provide the WHISK team with privileged access to the brightest talent in branding, visual production, and countless other cross-functional vendors. Since founding WHISK, she has spearheaded the production of over a hundred events, managed million dollar budgets, and worked in concert with executives from Levi’s, LimeLab/PCH International, Johnson & Johnson, Airbnb, eBay, Github, Heroku, and Zendesk.
Prior to WHISK, Maggie ran an immersive experience design firm that orchestrated pop-ups and rogue dining experiments across the US, Argentina, and Europe. After years of consulting these visionaries in software, robotics, and smart tea brewing, Maggie evolved her concept of design thinking, became well-versed in numerous disciplines, and more empathetic to her clients pain-points. Earlier in her career, Maggie was mentored by Greg Steltenpohl, founder and former CEO of Odwalla, who taught her how to stay at the forefront of health, sustainability, and innovation.
Maggie holds a BS in Cultural Anthropology and Business with honors from Santa Clara University where she was a Jean Donovan Fellow. You may find her cycling the Marin Headlands or practicing yoga at the crack of dawn. She enjoys doing random acts of surprise - connecting people without conditions, sending flowers anonymously, taking friends on immersive adventures, and understanding culture through shared meals around the world.
